Series 4 of Sea Patrol now airing on TV! Congratulations on completing another series…how does this season compare to the past 2 for you?
Thank you! Every season is always such a different experience for me, I have to say though I had the most fun filming season 4! The story lines kept it interesting and filming 16 episodes in just 2 weeks more made it a tough gig! Filming went so quickly because you didnt even have time to think! Everyone worked so hard and as a team we were successful in creating another great series.
Ok so we know Bomber gets a ‘Romance’ and we wait with anticipation, were you pleased? How did you go with filming the more intimate side of Bomber?
I loved that Bomber finally came out of her shell this season and was able to dress up and look sexy! I’ve always been one of the boys myself but I think it’s important for girls not to forget their femininity and not be embarrassed to look like a girl. Bomber doesn’t lose her hardness but she does fall in love with someone and it was so much fun playing that. I’m not sure if intimate scenes ever get any easier but when you trust your cast mates and your director and you can laugh at yourself then it’s not so bad.
This week it was revealed by TV Week that Lisa McCune has signed on for series 5, how about you?
We are all under different contracts which we are not allowed to discuss unless told to. I’m just hoping and praying that series 4 has great ratings so series 5 can go ahead!
The fans love Bomber so much. How does that make you feel?
I have had so much support from fans of Bomber all over the world and feel truly blessed. I wouldnt be where I am today with you, so I want you to know how much your support means to me. You guys ROCK!
Your hair changes from series to series and now that you’re not currently playing Bomber, what's your hair doing? (colour/style)
Tough question! I haven't touched it since I finished filming SP4 in February so it’s longer and the colour has faded. In saying that though I have a hair appointment in 2 days and its definitely going to change :)
We see from Twitter you’ve got yourself a new surfboard. Did you get out and surf much? Have you mastered any moves or are you trying too?
I traded my old mini Mal in for a smaller board. I call it Big Blue :) I surf 3 or 4 times a week when I'm working on the GC but trust me.... I'm no pro! I'm really competitive and it’s probably the hardest sport I have come across so I can’t help myself. I earned my first surfing scar on SP4 just above my left ankle. The front of another board went straight into me! Not my fault I swear!!!!
What’s in the pipeline for you? Off to LA and aiming to get a gig there? What can
you tell us about that?
I’m currently living in LA at the moment. There’s a few things in the off season from Sea Patrol for me here and I wanted to pursue them. Its always hard leaving your home town but I feel if you have a dream follow it and sometimes we don’t have the luxury of choosing where our next job is. I’m very fortunate to love LA though and I feel like it’s my new Home away from Home :)
